Menorca - Spains most laid-back island

The first time I have visited Menorca was when I was 9-years old. I still remember these beautiful memories I made together with my family. Now, almost 20 years later, I came back to spent two days at Spains most laid-back island.

As the high-season is always very busy here in Ibiza I was totally excited for these two days full of shooting the islands beauty and relaxing in one of the best boutique Hotels I haver ever stayed. 

On Sunday, July 28th I took a very early direct flight from Ibiza to Menorca. When I arrived the sun was shining, weather was sweet. Honestly I was totally surprised how quiet it was at the airport. From the airport I took a taxi to check-in at Casa Ladico - my accommodation for the next two days. The 5-Star boutique Hotel, located in the Old-Town of Mahon, Menorcas capital, was so charming. 

Straight after check-in I took my bag with my camera and some rolls of film to explore the area. The streets were empty and it was such a big difference if you compare it with the high-season traffic here in Ibiza. Of course I love Ibiza but strolling with my camera through Menorcas quiet streets felt like an absolute paradise to relax and re-charge my batteries. Before I went back to the Hotel to get ready for Dinner I waited for the sunset at the port of Mahon. It was such a great scenery with it’s boats and all the historic architecture in the back. I totally felt in love :)

The next day I woke up very early to visit the famous fish market “Mercat de Pescados” right next to Església del Carme - the largest religious building of the city. Before I headed back home to Ibiza I used the time for some shopping and let me tell you: there are many nice little boutiques.
